2025 Hajj: Governor Adeleke Tasks Osun Pilgrims to be Worthy Ambassadors

The Executive Governor of Osun State, Senator Ademola Adeleke, on Wednesday bade farewell to thousands of intending pilgrims heading to the Holy Lands of Makkah and Medinah from Osun state.

While speaking during the farewell ceremony organised by the Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board under the Ministry of Home Affairs, Adeleke described the journey as a sacred duty while calling on the pilgrims to uphold the values of discipline, humility, and unity.

He said, “As ambassadors of Osun State, you are not only representing yourselves and your families, but also the hopes and prayers of our entire state. Remember that Hajj is not only a physical experience, it is a spiritual trial that demands empathy, endurance, and a sense of brotherhood with fellow pilgrims from all over the world.

“As you depart, carry with you the love and hopes of Osun State. We look forward to your safe return and to the blessings that your prayers will bring to our land”, He prayed.

The Governor continued by appreciating the efforts and role of the Muslim community across the state, the religious leaders, especially the Grand Imam of Osun State, Sheikh Musa Animasahun, for their continued support and prayers for his administration.

“To our dedicated state officials, I sincerely commend your tireless efforts in ensuring smooth and effective arrangements for this year’s pilgrimage. Your commitment to the welfare and success of our pilgrims reflects our administration’s dedication to upholding the sanctity and dignity of this sacred exercise.

“I deeply appreciate the support and prayers of the Muslim Ummah across the state, beginning with our esteemed Grand Imam, Sheikh Musa Animasahun, and all religious leaders who continue to stand with this administration. Your spiritual support has been invaluable, and I ask for your continued prayers as we seek the successful completion of our first term and the emergence of our second.

“I reaffirm my administration’s commitment to the Muslim community in Osun State. The construction of the Hajj Camp is near completion, and I have also approved the building of a befitting mosque at the Government House, alongside the release of funds to complete the Hajj Camp. These are not just promises they are tangible actions of our sincere support for the faith and the faithful,” He added.

Earlier, while addressing the gathering, Commissioner for Home Affairs, Hon. Aderibigbe Rasheed, proudly commended Governor Adeleke for taking full responsibility for the welfare of pilgrims.

Aderibigbe, also confirmed that
confirmed that arrangements had been finalized for accommodation, healthcare, and two daily meals for each pilgrim.

“The purpose of this program is to prepare the intending pilgrims for the nitty-gritty of Hajj.

“It is also commendable that Mr Governor has approved expenses for the accommodation, feeding and healthcare all expenses, accommodation has been secured, health, and there’s an arrangement for two meals per day.

“I extend my gratitude to Governor for his gracious support l, may Allah be with you sir,” he noted.
