Over one hundred kilometres of roads have been completed across the length and breath of Osun State by Governor Ademola Adeleke’s administration in less than two years.
The Permanent Secretary, ministry of works and infrastructure, Engineer Bashir Bello disclosed this while featuring on Imole Ayo, a sensitization programme which promotes the activities of the present administration in the state on OSBC Radio and Television channels
The weekly Yoruba simulcast programme is put in place by the office of the spokesperson to the Governor, Mallam Olawale Rasheed to showcase the achievements of Senator Ademola Adeleke’s administration in Osun State
Engineer Bello who spoke through the Director of highways in the ministry, Engineer Maruf Ojebode added that a total of one hundred and forty five kilometres of roads are currently being constructed in all the federal constituencies/senatorial districts of the state.
He explained that, aside the ongoing 1.5km road project in each local government area of the state, the government is also embarking on the construction and rehabilitation of selected roads across the State
Engnr Bello said, to ensure a quality job, all materials being used for the road projects will be subjected to material testing at the Laboratory unit of the ministry of works and certified before being moved to sites.
According to him, the massive road projects underscore the state government’s policy of even development of all nooks and crannies of the State
The Permanent Secretary,works and infrastructure emphasized that, the road projects are being financed solely by the state government without borrowing from any financial institution.
He enjoined motorists and the entire people of Osun State to exercise patience and endure the temporary hardships being faced as a result of diversions on some major roads where construction works are on-going.
