The Executive Governor of Osun State, Senator Ademola Adeleke has described the passing of the Ajaguna of Osogbo, Chief Gabriel Oparanti as a painful loss that will be felt beyond the ancient town, commiserating with the Ataoja of Osogbo, HRM Oba Jimoh Olanipekun, on the passage of a high-ranking chief.
Governor Adeleke who also condoles the traditional chiefs, people of Osogbo, and immediate family on the demise of Chief Oparanti, said the Ajaguna was a distinguished leader who gave his all for the progress and stability of Osogbo.
While reflecting on the leadership and the devotion to the service of the people that the deceased exuded while alive, the the State Governor noted that Chief Oparanti complimented Oba Olanipekun’s ambitious prospect for Osogbo in words and in actions as his next-in-command and so will be sorely missed.
“I am saddened to learn about the passing of Chief Gabriel Oparanti, the Ajaguna of Osogbo. He was a highly dedicated leader, who served Osogbo with passion and honour,” the Governor was quoted to have said in a condolence message.
“And his loss will leave a void in a town he has served for years to come just as the values and his contributions to the social and economic development of our state will be remembered for generations to come.
“It is on this note that I express my deepest condolences to the Ataoja of Osogbo, HRM Oba Jimoh Olanipekun, the traditional chiefs, family members and the people of Osogbo, on the great loss that the demise of the Ajaguna of Osogbo reflects.”
Governor Adeleke prays for the repose of the soul of the deceased and hopes that those left behind, especially family members, can find solace and strength in the memories of his remarkable life of impacts and the knowledge that his legacy will endure generations.
