The Chairman of Osun State Peoples Democratic Party, Sunday Bisi has stated that with the performance of the state governor, Ademola Adeleke, he has no doubt that the governor will defeat the main opposition party, All Progressives Congress, APC again in 2026.
The Chairman stated this at the annual inter-religious prayers held at the party secretariat in Osogbo on Tuesday.
Bisi commended Adeleke for his relentless efforts in reshaping the state and his commitment towards education, human capital development and infrastructural development which includes construction and rehabilitating of roads, providing affordable and accessible healthcare in each of the 332 wards and prioritizing welfare of the public workforce.
He admonished Governor Adeleke to shun all unproductive distractions from opposition elements and remain focused on his vision for the State.
According to him, “As we begin this new year, we reflect on the progress made under our indefatigable leader, Governor Ademola Jackson Nurudeen Adeleke. We’ve witnessed significant developments in infrastructure, education, health, agriculture, and human capital development. Our party remains committed to the well-being and prosperity of Osun State.
“As we move forward therefore, I urge Governor Adeleke to remain focused on his vision for Osun State, shunning all unproductive distractions from opposition elements. We must remind ourselves that he defeated them in 2022 because they failed the people while in government. With his performance, I have no doubt that he will defeat them again in 2026. Let us continue to support him and work together to build a better Osun for all”.
Speaking on the forthcoming local government election in the state, the Chairman tasked both leaders and members of the party to brace up for the intense activities ahead, stating that they must campaign across every nook and cranny of the state by engaging with people and sharing the party’s vision, especially at the grassroots for a better Osun.
“I urge you all to continue embracing the spirit of unity, love, and cooperation that has brought us thus far. Let us work together to build a brighter future for ourselves, our children, and generations to come.
“As we pray for peace, prosperity, and guidance, let us remember to uphold the values of compassion, empathy, and kindness our great party is known for. As PDP ambassadors, let our actions be guided by the principles of justice, equality, and fairness.
“Let us mobilize our grassroots support, strengthen our party structures, and ensure that our message of light over darkness resonates with every voter. We owe it to ourselves, our party, and the good people of Osun State to give it our all and ensure a resounding victory in the forthcoming elections. Together, we can achieve greatness and build a brighter future for our beloved state”, he concluded.
Speaking on behalf of the governor, The Deputy Governor, Kola Adewusi appreciated members of the party for their unwavering support and commitment towards the Adeleke led administration.
He called on both elected and appointed political office holders not to relent in delivering the dividends of democracy to their various constituencies, stating that while they pray they should also work.
The event was attended by key dignitaries, including the Speaker of the State Assembly; Hon. Adewale Egbedun, former Governor Olagunsoye Oyinlola; and former PDP National Secretary, Prof. Wale Oladipo, among others.
