Team Nigeria’s Odunayo Adekuoroye was defeated in the quarterfinal of the 57kg women’s wrestling fight to China’s Kexin Hong on Thursday at the ongoing 2024 Olympics Games in Paris, France.

The defending African champion, who started her Olympic campaign on a winning note, humble Fouzia Aouissi in the round of 16.
Adekuoroye, who aimed to continue her Olympic medal quest, started the fight in an impressive fashion, by leading 4-0, before the Chinese came from behind to level the score 4-4 few minutes later.
Getting to the closing stages of the fight, the Chinese star gathered momentum and put Adekuoroye to the sword to book the semifinal ticket with a final score of 10-8.
