Senior Special Assistant to Osun Governor on Climate Change, Aremo Yemi Moruff Adedapo reaffirmed the readiness of the Osun State government, through the Governor’s Climate Advisory Council and Hon. Commissioner of Environment to encourage partners within and outside the state to achieve a eco-friendly society and make the state more climate friendly.
He made this known while receiving Mr. Oluwaseyi and Mr. Adewoyin both of non-governmental organizations, Citizen Climate Lobby and Climate Reality Project who came to display a zero carbon emission electric car for a check.
The car which was produced and has been in use since 2021 has an air conditioner and can cover 100km per single charge.
Aremo Moruff further noted that we as a state and residents must start the journey to take a shift away from our over-reliance on fossil fuels as a source of energy to renewable sources of energy now to safe our environment from natural disasters.
The representatives of the NGOs while responding, thanked the Governor of the state, Sen. Ademola Adeleke for taking this crucial decision to protect our environment using best practices across the globe.
They also assure the state of their maximum support for the state climate change adaptation projects.
