As part of his campaign promise to promote quality health care services to the people of Osun State, the Executive Governor , Sen. Ademola Jackson Nurudeen Adeleke has honoured the health workers who distinguished and performed excellently in the previous Imole free medical and surgical outreach programmes which were fully sponsored by his government.
Adeleke awarded the various Health workers at a special dinner organized to recognize their efforts during the Outreach Program.
He commended the Team under the leadership of Prof. Peter Babatunde Olaitan for their dedication and commitment in making his dream of touching people’s lives and restoring hope to the people of the State a reality.
Earlier in his opening remark the Chairman, Imole Free Medical and Surgical Outreach who is also the Chief Medical Director, Uniosun Teaching Hospital, Osogbo, Prof. Peter Babatunde Olaitan appreciated the Governor for effecting positive changes in health care facilities and touching the lives of people by approving enrollment of thousands of retirees on Health Insurance programme, prompt payment of appropriate salaries and arrears to all workers especially health care workers in the state.
Prof. Olaitan stated that the programme which catered for over 50,000 people has touched lives in different parts of the state.
He highlighted that over 200 doctors in various specialities with over 300 experienced Nurses in different fields and many other health workers who are staff of the hospital were part of the Team.
The CMD revealed that the governor has promised the people of the state that the programme will continue on quaterly basis and the Imole Medical Team will enlarge the scope of care during the outreach to include Cervical Cancer Screening and care of women, Breast Cancer awareness programmes and screening as well as Dental care.
Among those honoured during the appreciation dinner are Prof. Peter Olaitan, Chairman, Imole Medical Outreach for his outstanding role towards the the programme, Dr Abimbola Adefila most Innovative Physician, Dr Babatunde Afolabi, Head Logistics, Dr. Kehinde Abdul wasiu, Head, Medical Care, Prof.Adeoti Caroline, Head, Eye Care, Dr Musibau Adejumobi, Head, Survival care.
Other members who were awarded are Dr Emmanuel Erinfolami as most Outstanding Caregiver, Pharmacist Nurudeen Adebayo Head, Pharmacy, Mr Nurudeen Awwal, Head Anaesthetic care, Mrs Bimbo Oshilaja Head, Peri Operative Nurse, Mr Michael Olaleye Outstanding Personnel Coordinator, Mr Ebenezer Akindiya best Ambulance Driver and Mr Victor Ebisire most Outstanding Porter.
