…Governor Adeleke as done so much for Osun transport sector – MC Oluomo
The Osun State Transport Management System(OSTMS) has been rebranded and merged with the National Union of Road Transport Workers(NURTW) for effective service delivery, professionalism and for improved revenue generation.
At a colourful and well attended ceremony held in Osogbo, the, the excited members of the transport workers trooped out in their large numbers to witness the epoch making event.
Tagged: “One Team, One Vision”, members of the two transport groups decided to merge together as NURTW because of the need to improve the transport sector in Osun State.
Speaking at the event, Commissioner for Transportation, Hon. Sesan Oyedele who described the day as a great one in the history of the transport sector in Osun State said the sector can only get better under Senator Ademola Adeleke.
He said the vision and mission of the State Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke is to ensure that the transportation sector in Osun State is ranked among the best in Nigeria.
The Commissioner explained further that Governor Adeleke welcomed the idea of the merger between the NURTW and OSTMS because of the need to let peace reign within the sector and for the people to get value for money through professional and efficient service delivery.
Hon. Oyedele added that the merger will go a long in making things work better in the sector and the revenue generation of the government will definitely improve, stressing that Senator Ademola Adeleke is determined to continue to improve the sector.
In an address, the Nationa President of the NURTW, Comrade
Alhaji Musiliu Ayinde Akinsanya (MC Oluomo) who described the merger as long overdue commended the efforts Governor Ademola Adeleke in stabilising and improving the transportation sector in Osun State.
He explained that Senator Ademola Adeleke has indeed shown that he is a man of the masses through the various laudable projects he is executing in the nooks and crannies of the State, adding that the Osun Transport Sector has grown so much under the present administration in the State.
While appreciating the rebranding of OSTMS into NURTW, Alhaji Akinsanya noted that it is a move that will no doubt improve the sector, stressing that he will continue to extend every necessary cooperation to the Ministry of Transportation in Osun State.
Also speaking, Chairman of the defunct OSTMS, Comrade Wakil Nurudeen Alowonle described the event as a remarkable milestone which will bring so much sanity to the transport sector in Osun State.
The programme brought together all the branches of the transport workers from across all the local government areas in the State as well as top government functionaries.
