Proof of Address System: Southwest Stakeholders Meet For The Activation and Implementation

…As SSG, Permanent Secretaries, ALGON Chairman, Secretaries Participate In The Sensitisation Meeting

Osun state ALGON Chairman, Otunba Hon (Alhaji) Sarafadeen Abiodun Awotunde SPAIN alongside with Osun state ALGON Scribe Hon Afolabi Lukman Oyekola jonined other Southwest geopolitical zones stakeholders to attend the sensitisation meeting for the activation and Implementation of the local government proof of address system.

The program held at Protea hotel hall, Ikeja, Lagos state. In attendance were Southwest political stakeholders, Secretaries to the State Government and the Permanent Secretaries of the 6 Southwest states (Ogun, Lagos, Osun, Ondo, Ekiti and Oyo) among others.

According to Osun state ALGON chairman, Otunba Abiodun Awotunde, who speak on how our communities can be safe. He emphasized that to create a safer community, solutions can include implementing neighborhood watch programs, increasing community engagement through social initiatives, collaborating with local law enforcement, by promoting education on safety measures, and encouraging residents to report suspicious activity, all while fostering a sense of collective responsibility among community members. 

Dr Rotimi Olu Akinlesi, from Ogun state and the Permanent secretary, Ogun state ministry of local government, chieftaincy affairs and rural development, Mrs Kikelomo Bolarinwa expressed their feelings in appreciating the organizer’s and revealed that they are proud to be part of this initiative program. They enlight more on the area of safety and security, that Nigeria in recent times has recorded unprecedented security challenges such terrorism, militancy, banditry, and kidnapping for ransom and can only resolve through access control systems, surveillance, physical security measures and cybersecurity solutions.

Ekiti state SSG, Professor Mrs Abibat Omolola Adubiaro welcome all stakeholders as she is delighted to attend the program, she further explained that the resolution of last meeting brought alot of development and showed the way Nigerians will be safe and sleep with the two eyes closed. She prayed that this should not be the end of this program.

Mr Seye Oyinloye delivered the goodwill message and the program was anchored by Mrs Abike Awojobi, Lagos state technical partner. Others in attendance were Professor Olanike Adeyemo, Oyo State SSG, Osun state permanent secretary, ably represented by Mr Adelabu Tajudeen, Hon Sanda Sikiru, Oyo State ALGON chairman, Mr Segun Ojo, Ekiti state ALGON chairman, Ondo state ALGON chairman, Dr Fashua, other local government chairmen from Southwest zone, among others.
