The Personal Assistant to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Constituency Affairs, Alhaja Kareem Khadija Omotayo, has lauded Osun State Governor, Senator Nurudeen Ademola Adeleke, for his dedication and hard work, describing him as a “workaholic governor.” She made these remarks during a town hall meeting organized by the Presidency, held at the Local Government Service Commission Multipurpose Hall yesterday.
In her address, Alhaja Kareem emphasized the importance of stakeholder engagements in assessing the impact of President Tinubu’s administration on the populace. She expressed appreciation for the support shown by various groups, including market women, labor leaders, and farmers, towards Tinubu’s government. She assured attendees that efforts would be made to implement significant empowerment initiatives in her next visit to the state.
Speaking at the event, the Chairman of the Osun State Chapter of the Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC), Comrade Christopher Arapasopo, urged President Tinubu to ensure a free and fair electoral process in the 2026 gubernatorial elections. He praised Governor Adeleke’s developmental strides, stating that Osun residents and civil servants are benefiting from his administration’s policies. He called for continuity in governance, affirming that “there is no vacancy for any interloper.”
Similarly, the Iyaloja General of Osun State, Mrs. Oyebode Aderonke Mary, reiterated the support of market women for both President Tinubu and Governor Adeleke. She appealed to the presidency to respect the will of the people, ensuring Governor Adeleke’s leadership extends beyond 2026. She declared the market women’s readiness to vote for Tinubu in 2027 and for Governor Adeleke in 2026.
Representing Governor Adeleke at the event, his spokesperson, Mallam Olawale Rasheed expressed gratitude to the Presidency for organizing the town hall meeting in collaboration with the state government. He noted that the initiative reflects President Tinubu’s commitment to inclusive leadership and the delivery of democratic dividends across Nigeria.
Other groups present included the Nigerian Women for Agricultural Progressive and Development Initiatives (Osun Chapter), led by Alhaja Ibrahim-Raji Idayat Adenike; the Nigerian Union of Journalist led by her Chairman, Comrade Wasiu Ajadosu; Osun Civil Society Coalition, represented by Mr. Olowu Emmanuel; the Nigerian Youth Parliament, represented by Comrade Babawale Jamiu Popoola; and the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), Southwest Zone, represented by its General Secretary, Comrade Oluwole Olutunde Aboke among others.
The event provided an avenue for diverse groups to voice their perspectives and support for both state and federal leadership, emphasizing the importance of good governance and collective progress.
