The Osun State House of Assembly is set to receive the Executive Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke, for the formal presentation of the 2026 draft budget before the lawmakers on Wednesday
The announcement was made during the House plenary session on Tuesday, following the reading of an official communication from the Governor to the Assembly.
The letter, read by the Speaker, Rt. Hon. Adewale Egbedun, notified members of the Governor’s readiness to appear before the Assembly to present the government’s financial proposals for the 2026 fiscal year and it reads thus:
“I am pleased to inform Mr. Speaker and the distinguished members of the Osun State House of Assembly of my intention to lay the 2026 Draft Estimates of the State before the House on Wednesday, 12th November, 2025, having concluded its preparation, and approved by the State Executive Council.
“This is to conform with the extant rules and regulation which stipulate that such Draft Estimates should be presented to the House for approval before the end of the year preceding the commencement of the Budget implementation.”
According to the correspondence, the presentation will serve as a platform for Governor Adeleke to outline his administration’s key expenditure plans.
This will mark a significant step in the state’s fiscal planning process, as it will enable lawmakers to scrutinize, debate, and eventually approve the financial framework that will guide government operations in the coming year.
Meanwhile, in another news, the Osun State Research Integration and Innovation Implementation Bill, 2025, passed through its first reading.
