Why i deserved to be re-elected – Gov. Adeleke

Today marks the starting point of campaigning for the August 15, 2026 governorship elections. We need your prayers and support for a free and fair elections through which the will of the people will prevail.

Ahead of our campaign across every corner of Osun state, I am glad to announce our upgraded Five Point Agenda on which I will base my re-election campaign.

The reloaded five point agenda are as follows:

1.Integrated Youth, Women and Workers’ Welfare and Empowerment;

  1. Infrastructure Consolidation for Citizens’ Social and Economic Wellbeing;
  2. Agro-Industrial Expansion for Human Development and Collective Prosperity;

4.Affordable, Qualitative Health & Education Access

5.Improved & Secured Business Environment for Job Creation.

Full details of the new five point agenda will be released on the field of campaign.

The above agenda builds on the original 2022 five point agenda which my administration has faithfully implemented. I can assert without hesitation that we have delivered on our electoral promises to Osun people. We are also grateful to Osun people of Osun for appreciating our deliveries and performance.

When the opposition asked whether I deserve to be re-elected, I told them Yes based on my performance in this first term in office.

As the governor, I remain a man of due process.

I adhere to procurement regulations in project execution,;

-enforce equitable spread in infrastructure allocation;

-stick to the rule of law in governance crises;

-implement merit based pre-election teachers’ recruitment despite financial constraints; and

  • ensure judicious handling of state finance through verifiable projects and programmes.

l demonstrates servant leadership traits by praising God in governance and by serving the collective interest and yearnings of Osun people for people’s based development.

I deserve re-election for several reasons namely:

The empowerment of Osun cooperatives movement with almost N4billion naira;

The support and strengthening of community development associations (CDA) with grassroots health and infra projects;

Implementation of Imole Medical outreach with almost 80 thousand beneficiaries, reviving of Osun cocoa revolution through aggressive seedling distribution and new farmers’ initiative;

The acquisition of brand new tractors now serving farmers across the state, implementation of thousands of local projects through integrated rural development under O-RAMP;

Introduction of 45 days windows for acquisition of certificate of occupancy, the revival of Osun free trade zones with active investors;

The digitisation of Osun tax and revenue collection system;

The implementation of SIFMIS payroll application which was abandoned under Oyetola administration;

The reduction of Osun debt stock by over 40 percent according to the National Debt Management Office;

The implementation of local content policy for Osun money to service Osun;

The development of the first five star stadium for the state;

The making of Osun sport commission and Osun sport development fund;

The revival of six moribound waterworks across the state;

The development of over a billion naira Ora water dams to service igbomina land;

Strategic water access projects through 332 boreholes across the 332 wards;

Development of Osun as a digital hub for digital economy;

Introduction of state ICT policy, tech innovation act and domestication of Nigeria StartUp act;

Revival and ongoing implementation of Osun state security trust fund;

Construction of over 350 kilometers of roads;

Development of three major flyover bridges;

Reconstruction of town linkage but collapsed bridges at Iwo, Ile Ife and Gbongan;

Ongoing dualisation of township roads at Iwo, Ila Orangun, Obokun/Oriade, Ile Ife, Ifetedo, Ikirun and Osogbo;

Introduction of the best nationally rated minimum wage table for Osun workers;

Payment of inherited half salaries;

Payment of almost 100 billion naira in inherited pension debt;

Restoration of welfare and dignity of Osun public service;

Raising Osun national examination ratings from number 33 under APC government to number 7 both for 2024 and 2025;

Winning the best state in primary health care access for both 2024 and 2025;

Reconstruction of over 200 health centres with solar and water facilities;

Rehabilitation of about 150 schools;

Completion of several abandoned projects at the Osun state university;

Securing final national medical accreditation for the Osun state university;

The making of University of Ilesa a reality with a take off grant, close to 100 accredited courses and ongoing upgrade of its internal infrastructure.

I’m I not deserving to be re-elected?

My promise to Osun people is that now and when we are re-elected, we will continue to run an inclusive, forward looking and world class governance for the good of our people.

We will expand our consultative networks.

We will sustain multiple sectoral growth. We will pursue implementation of sustainable growth across sectors under multi-sectoral development strategies.

We will continue to leave no sector or town behind and we will maintain the people as the centre of our programmes and policies.
