Ejigbo Local Government Stakeholders Endorse Adeleke Salam for Re-Election as Governor, MHR

Stakeholders of the Accord Party from Ejigbo Local Government of Osun State have endorsed the re-election bid of the Governor of Osun State, Senator Ademola Adeleke as Governor of Osun State in August 2026 and the current member of the House of Representatives from Ede North, Ede South, Egbedore and Ejigbo Federal constituency Rep. Bamidele Salam in 2027 National Assembly elections.

The Stakeholders made of members of the Local Government exco, Ward Chairmen, Women and youth leaders, elected councillors, Senior Special Assistants (SSA) to the Governor and other Party leaders gave the endorsement today in a communique signed and released to the Media.

The endorsement followed a special meeting of selected leaders and elected party and government officials from Ejigbo Local Government held on Thursday, March 12, 2026, where participants deliberated on the political direction of the constituency and Osun State ahead of the forthcoming elections.

In the communiqué issued at the end of the meeting, the stakeholders first threw their weight behind the re-election bid of Governor Ademola Nurudeen Jackson Adeleke in the August 2026 governorship election, urging members of the Accord Party and residents of the state to support his administration for a second term.

According to the leaders, their decision was based on the governor’s developmental strides and ongoing infrastructural and social programmes in their local government and across the state, which they said had positively impacted many communities.

The stakeholders also unanimously endorsed the lawmaker representing Ede North, Ede South, Egbedore and Ejigbo Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Rep. Bamidele Salam, to contest again in the 2027 general elections.

They explained that the endorsement of Salam was based on what they described as his excellent performance in service delivery and quality representation since assuming office in 2019.

The communiqué noted that several developmental initiatives and constituency projects facilitated by the federal lawmaker across the four local governments had significantly contributed to socio-economic growth and improved representation of the constituency at the National Assembly.

They expressed confidence that returning Salam to the Green Chamber in 2027 would further consolidate the developmental strides recorded so far and strengthen the voice of the constituency at the federal level.

The stakeholders also commended the member representing Ejigbo in the Osun State House of Assembly, Hon. Olujinmi Asagade, for what they described as effective representation and commitment to the development of the local government.

Reaffirming their commitment to the party, the leaders pledged continuous loyalty to the Accord Party and to the “Imole Government” in Osun State.

They further urged party leaders, community leaders and the general public to rally round Governor and the National Assembly members and ensure their elections in order to sustain ongoing infrastructure and social development across Ejigbo Local Government, the federal constituency and Osun State in general.

The signatories to the communique include 13 members of the Party Local Exco, 8 of the 11 Ward chairmen, 8
Women leaders, elected local government councilors and stakeholders representing all the wards and interest groups in Ejigbo Local government.
