A Chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party in Osun, Ibraheem Adekunle has distributed 5000 bags of Rice to residents of the 10 Local Government of Osun Central Senatorial District through his foundation, Ibraheem Adekunle Foundation.
Affairs TV reports that the distribution exercise started about three months ago, making today’s exercise the second of such distribution.
Speaking on behalf the Chairman of the foundation, Taofeeq Ekundayo, Secretary of the Foundation while distributing the bags of rice in Osogbo, the Osun State capital, noted the gesture is to support the good work of the Osun State Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke.
He said, “This project is just being done to assist the good people of Osun central to propagate the good governance of our amiable Governor, the Asiwaju of Ede land, Dr Nurudeen Ademola Adeleke.
“So the impact of this, is just to make sure the people of Osun central are enjoying the good dividends of democracy being done by our Governor to propagate him, to make sure that the people felt the impact of the Governor.”
Speaking on the impact of the distribution exercise, Senior Special Assistant to Governor Adeleke on OSSADEP, Hon Seyi Bamidele noted that the distribution exercise has been designed to happen every days and will not stop, adding that it is also to cushion the effect of hardship in the country.
“The feedback is awesome and sincerely, because of the sincere motive behind it we have really gotten a lot of feedback from people from the grassroots especially in this critical period that stomach infrastructure is key and like I said the other time, the major agenda is just to support the re-election of our amiable and performing Governor, Asiwaju of Ede land, Governor Nurudeen Ademola Adeleke and to also show the kind gesture of the nature of the donor that he has been doing in the time past, so the feed back is awesome, it’s wonderful.
“The other time,we distributed 3000 bags but this time around because it is festive period we’re giving out 5,000 bags. It’s going to continue, it’s going to be every 90, 90, days, today will be approximately 80 days ago that we had a time like this, but because Christmas is around, we want the people to have whatever we want to give them on time that’s why we’re doing today, so in the next 90 we should be expecting this kind gesture again.
“Like I usually say, giving is a gift, let us just emulate the idea of giving to the people, the only way you can even please God is to give to people. So I want to encourage every other party faithful who have the opportunity and capacity to do it, to get back to people in the grassroots and give them whatever support that they needed. It might not be food, it might be something else, let us ensure we give back to the society.
“Even the blind can see, even the deaf can hear that what our amiable Governor is doing in Osun state is seriously commendable, so what he’s also doing, he’s also complimenting the effort of Mr Governor and he’s doing it across the LG in osun central and he’s still going to do more, that, I can assure you”, he noted.
While appreciating the gesture, PDP Chairman in Ifelodun Local Government, Dr Samuel Adeboye noted that the the gesture will go a long way to ameliorate the crisis of hardship, food shortage in Osun state.
“I’m so much glad and delighted for what this Hon. Adekunle is doing and on behalf of all Chairmen, in Osun state PDP, we want to pray for him that he will not do all these things in vain and whatever he’s aspiration shall come to reality in the name of Jesus Christ, we want to appreciate him once again, as Christmas is near and the situation of hardship on ground in Nigeria, what he’s doing is so marvelous and it’s on time and it it will cushion the effect of this hardship of economy especially in Osun state.
“And as much as he’s helping, assisting our Governor, Dr Adeleke for his second term bid, I think it will go a long way to at least ameliorate the crisis of hardship, food shortage in Osun state and by the special grace of God, by February next year, we’re having Local government election, it’s going to reflect in the spirit and soul of the electorate to vote massively for PDP and I thank him on behalf of PDP chairmen in Osun State”, he stated.
