The Olu of Igboora in Oyo state, Oba Jimoh Olajide Titiloye has conferred the chieftaincy title of Are Asoludero of Igboora on Osun State Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke.
The monarch announced the conferment of the award on Governor Adeleke during the ongoing annual Ibeji Festival.
Oba Jimoh Olajide Titiloye who said the the entry of Senator Adeleke into Igboora signaled the entry of light into the ancient town expressed the belief that darkness has vanished in the town with the Governor’s triumphant entry into Igboora.
Earlier, the monarch had installed Dr. Amos Adepoju and his wife, Mrs. Elfrida Adepoju, parents of Mr. Kunle Adepoju who is the Personal Assistant to Governor Adeleke on General Services, as Asiwaju and Yeye Asiwaju of Igboora.
In his remarks, Governor Adeleke appreciated the Olu of Igboora, Oba Jimoh Asoorolu Titiloye for his passionate drive towards entrenching communal peace and development in his domain.
Senator Adeleke described traditional rulers as custodians of Yoruba culture and tradition whose role in peace and nation-building cannot be quantified.
Senator Adeleke appreciated the monarch for the honour done him promising that the award of chieftaincy title would further spur him to do more for the benefit of mankind.
Ibeji Festival is an annual traditional festival celebrated in Igboora to commemorate the global acknowledgment of Igboora as the headquarters of Twins in the world.
Governor Adeleke equally commended the duo of Dr. Amos and Mrs. Elfrida Adepoju for their investments in human and community developments which he said has earned them recognition from their birthplace.
He therefore assured the gathering that his administration will not rest on its oars in ensuring that infrastructural development spread across the nooks and crannies of Osun State.
Senator Adeleke who commended his counterpart in Oyo State, engineer Seyi Makinde said they are both committed to serving the people.
