Yeye Dupe Adeleke-Sanni Empowerment Foundation Empowers Widows in Honour of Late Alhaji Tohir Aderemi Sanni

….donates N100,000 Cash Gifts, Minibuses, Deep Freeze, Food Items to Hundreds of Widows

The Yeye Dupe Adeleke-Sanni Empowerment Foundation, founded by the Yeyeluwa of Edeland and Global President of Adeleke Women of Substance, Chief (Dr) Mrs Modupeola Adeleke-Sanni, has once again demonstrated commitment to humanitarian service. The Foundation organized a special empowerment programme for widows in memory of Alhaji Tohir Aderemi Sanni (1949-2024), a noble initiative aimed at providing financial relief and support to widows in Osun State.

As part of the empowerment programme, hundreds of widows from across Osun State were carefully selected and each received a cash gift of N100,000 to support their livelihoods. Recognising the unique challenges faced by widows the Senior of Nigeria (SAN), also extended additional support by providing them with deep freezers, both foodstuffs and cash grants of N100,000 each.

In furtherance of its commitment to social welfare, the Yeye Dupe Empowerment Foundation also donated minibuses to:

  • An Nur Islamic Organization
  • Mother and Child Unit of Osun State Teaching Hospital, Osogbo

The event witnessed the presence of top government officials, religious leaders and other dignitaries, including the executive governor of Osun State who was ably represented by the Deputy Governor, Prince Kola Adewusi, Wife of the Governor Amb. Erelu Ngozi Abeni Adeleke, Secretary to the State Government (SSG) Hon. Teslim Igbalaye, Chief of Staff to the Governor Alhaji Kazeem Akinleye and his wife, Dr. (Mrs) Balikis Akinleye, Chairman of the Osun State Peoples Democratic Party, Hon. Sunday Bisi, Commissioner for Women Affairs, Children and Social Welfare, Hon. Ayobola Fadeyi-Awolowo, Commissioner for Special Duties Dr. B.T Salam, Commissioner for Information and Public Enlightenment, Oluomo Kolapo Alimi, Commissioner for Innovation, Science, Technology and Digital Economy, Hon. Maruf Dele Ayofe (Ayof), Commissioner for Finance, Hon. Sola Ogungbile, Chairmanship candidate for Ede South LG election and Committee Secretary, Hon. Lukman Afolabi (Abere Soose), Chairman of the Committee and SSA to the Governor on Special Duties, Hon. Tunji Akanni, Founder of Celestial Church of Christ Wonderland, Osogbo, Prophet Olumide Gamgbe, Chief Imam of Olohunlomoerue Central Mosque, Alhaji Abdullahi Olohunlomoerue, CMD of Brighten Intensive Care Hospital, Lagos, Dr. (Mrs) Funso Ogundoyin, Ede Chapter of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Chief Imam of Adeleke Central Mosque, Special Advisers, SSAs, SAs, Governor’s Media Aides and other prominent personalities.

Speaking at the event, Yeye Oba of Iroko Ekiti and Yeye Wura of Ila-Orangun, Chief (Dr) Mrs Modupeola Adeleke-Sanni reaffirmed her dedication to supporting widows and the less privileged in the state and beyond, emphasising that empowerment is the greatest tool for economic independence and social upliftment.

She noted that the initiative aligns with her lifelong commitment to humanitarian service and women’s empowerment, adding that the Yeye Dupe Adeleke-Sanni Empowerment Foundation remains steadfast in its mission to improve the lives of widows, orphans and other vulnerable groups through sustainable interventions.
