A dramatic scene unfolded at an Akure Magistrates’ Court in Ondo State as a 23-year-old labourer, Ayomide Daniel, who was accused of threatening to kill his boss, feigned insanity and ran out of the court.

The suspect who was arraigned before Magistrate R.I. Adelakin, on Tuesday, March 12, 2025, suddenly put up a strange behaviour in court by refusing to alter any word and looking weird.
However, when the charges were about to be read to him, Daniel started shouting awkwardly, throwing the audience into confusion, thus altering proceedings.
The defendant, who was just dramatising, turned his back to the court and ran outside displaying full madness.
He removed his clothes and stripped himself naked, as he began to eat dried leaves and nylons.
The suspect’s strange display caught the attention of people present at the court premises, though nobody could move closer to him, including his mother.
The suspect, whose address was not given, was charged to court by the police on a single charge of threat to life.
The prosecutor, Inspector Folashade Adeyemi, said on March 10, in Akure, the defendant threatened the life of one Alexandral Udokwu and attacked him with a broken bottle.
The offence contravenes Section 86 of the Criminal Code Law of Ondo State, 2006.
