Isokan Chairman, Alhaji Mao, Hon. Lanre Oladebo, PDP Leaders Condemn Attack on Isokan People by AMBO Political Thugs in Apomu

The Chairman of Isokan Local Government, Apomu, Alhaji Abdul Azeez Lateef Adeniran Mao, alongside Hon. Lanre Oladebo, the Honourable Member representing Ayedaade/Irewole/Isokan Federal Constituency, and other PDP leaders, have strongly condemned the unprovoked attack on innocent residents of Apomu by suspected political thugs linked to Bola Oyebamiji, an aspirant of the opposition All Progressives Congress (APC), following his failed political outing in the Local Government.

The unfortunate incident, which took place today in Apomu, disrupted the peace and security of a historically calm and united community, leaving residents in fear and chaos.

According to a statement released, leadership of PDP party expressed deep concern over the rise in politically motivated violence and called on relevant security agencies to launch a thorough investigation, ensuring the arrest of perpetrators and bringing them to justice regardless of political influence.

“It saddens my heart to hear about this ugly incident, where properties were destroyed and individuals were left severely injured. Isokan has always been a land of peace, unity, and hospitality. We must not allow the desperation of those rejected by the people to plunge our land into unnecessary conflict.” Alhaji Mao stated.

Hon. Lanre Oladebo, in his remarks, condemned the act in its entirety, stressing that political ambition must never override the safety and well-being of the citizens.

“No ambition is worth shedding blood or causing pain to innocent people. I urge all political stakeholders to uphold the spirit of sportsmanship, peaceful engagement and mutual respect as we move closer to electioneering season,” Oladebo said.

The Special Adviser to Governor Adeleke on RUWESA, Hon. Lanre Odelade who spoke on behalf of other PDP leaders reaffirmed the unwavering commitment of Governor Ademola Adeleke protecting the lives and properties of the people and maintaining peace and orderliness across all the Local Government Areas in Osun State.

“This is truly unfortunate and unacceptable. We will continue to stand against all forms of political violence and resist attempts to destabilise our communities,” he noted.
