…sets to achieve outstanding success in 2023 Trade Fair in November
Osun State government has reaffirmed its commitment to further push for the industrialization and diversification of the economy of the state, through the 2023 Trade Fair exhibition, holding in November.
This was disclosed in a keynote address delivered by the Commissioner for Commerce and Industry, Rev. Bunmi Jenyo at the one-day sensitisation programme for Local Government Chairmen, Heads of Local Council Administration and Directors of Community Development, towards 2023 Trade Fair organised by the Chambers of Commerce in collaboration with the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, held in Osogbo on Thursday.
The 2023 Trade Fair, which is to be held in Aje Market, State capital between November 16 to 28 is an annual event organized to showcase the economic potentials and achievements from all local council areas and the state in general.
The programme which also provided a platform of Press Conference with selected media organisations, is set towards achieving an outstanding success in the forthcoming Trade Fair and unveiling the Prospectus for the Fair.
While speaking, Osun State Governor, Sen. Ademola Jackson Nurudeen Adeleke represented by the Commissioner for Commerce and Industry, Rev. Jenyo expressed happiness that the theme of the Fair is in consonance with the vision and economic mission of the current administration.
According to him “I am delighted that the theme of this year’s Trade Fair is ‘unlocking the industrialization potentials of Osun State’ and its focus is on Agriculture, Mining and Micro, Small and Medium Industries”.
“The theme falls in line with the current drive by the present administration to break away from a monolithic economy and develop the economic potentials of the State for diversification by harnessing our human and natural resources towards economic growth, to improve the Standard of Living of citizens and securing a better economic climate for Osun State”, he said.
The Commissioner who also unveiled the Prospectus for 2023 Trade Fair also urged all the key stakeholders to meet in discussion to widen opportunities for the whole world to know about the goods and agricultural products in Osun State.
“The government is supporting this mission to change the narrative, from civil service to industrialized state. Without showing the whole world what we have in stock, a lot of people might not know what we have as potentials”.
“This forthcoming Trade Fair will encourage and support our people in Agriculture, Mining and all other sectors of the economy, to show to the whole world, what we have in stock, in Osun State”, he added.
Earlier in his welcome address, the Chairman of Osun State Chambers of Commerce, Dr. Olu Olujide has pledged that Osun 2023 Trade Fair is prepared to be the best of its kind, across the country.
Also, the HLA Chairman, Dr. Wale Adedapo who pledged the support of all Local Government administrations in Osun State, assured that the Fair will be a success.
Also in attendance are the members of the Chamber, Directors and staff of the ministry of Commerce and Industry, Some Heads of Local Council Administration, some Directors of Community Development and selected journalists.
