Following the suspension of Abdulrasheed Bawa from office as Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), he was directed to immediately hand over the affairs of his office to the agency’s Director of Operations, Abdulkarim Chukkol who will oversee the affairs of the commission as Acting EFCC Chairman.
President Bola Tinubu had on Wednesday suspended EFCC Chairman, AbdulRasheed Bawa over weighty allegations of abuse of office.
The suspension, according to a statement by the office of the SGF, is to allow proper investigation into Bawa’s conduct while in office following some weighty allegations of abuse of office levelled against him by some stakeholders in the anti-corruption fight.
Abdulkarim Chukkol, who is the current Director of Operations of the EFCC, is now the anti-graft agency’s Acting Chairman,
Chukkol is a B.Sc graduate of the University of Maiduguri (1995 – 2000). His other qualifications include; Criminal Justice Education

2011), University of Virginia
Postgraduate Diploma Criminal Justice Education(2011).
Chukkol will now step in as Acting Chairman of the EFCC, acting on the presidential directive.
