The Osun chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has attacked the All Progressive Congress (APC) for persistent blackmail of the judiciary , daring the opposition to produce evidence of PDP court action against the Central Bank of Nigeria(CBN).
The party in a statement signed by the Senior Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Hon. Hekekiah Bamiji, response to an APC statement today said the opposition is scared that its illegal occupation of the local governments is coming to an end.
The opposition is becoming desperate knowing that its claim of reinstatement has fallen flat without any legal foundation, the PDP says, affirming that “the Osun state PDP and its government will deploy all legal means to flush out the illegal occupants of the local governments Secretariat across the state.
“The accusations from the APC are lies from the pit of hell. The opposition has been holding unto false reinstatement narrative but the whole world now knows that there is no judgement reinstating the sacked Yes/No council chairmen.
“The Federal High court judgment sacking the impostor Chairmen subsists and the APC realized this fact , hence it has rushed to appeal against the ruling. We believe the CBN will not relate with impostor occupants of the local governments as there is no legal basis for such action.
“We condemn the APC’s repeated blackmail of the judiciary. This is a reprehensible conduct and we feel the state APC leadership should be committed to jail for contempt of court.
“As a party , we have full faith in the capacity and the integrity of the judiciary. We are confident that the judiciary will not succumb to the blackmail as it treats the cases before it.
In a democracy, the arbiter is the judiciary. Why is the APC afraid of the judiciary? Why is a party that falsely claims reinstatement by misinterpreting a court judgement now screaming about judicial review?

Hezekiah Olabamiji,
Director of Media and Publicity,
Osun State PDP.
