Kano State House of Assembly, has on Tuesday, passed a bill into law for the creation of 2nd class Emirates and appointment of 2nd class Emirs in the state.
This followed the second and third reading of the bill on Tuesday on the floor of the house presided over by the Speaker of the House, Jibril Falgore.

The deputy speaker, Muhammad Bello Butubutu, however, moved for the adoption and passage of the bill.
Shedding more lights on the development, Butubutu said the 2nd class Emirates/Emirs are to support the 16th Emir of Kano, Muhammadu Sanusi II in overseeing of the emirate affairs.
The new second class Emirates to be created include: Rano Emirate (Rano – Bunkure – Kibiya), Karaye Emirate (Karaye – Rogo) and Gaya Emirate (Gaya – Ajingi – Albasu).
Recall that the house took the first reading of the bill before embarking on recess after repealing the Kano Emirate council law.
