No death was recorded at Amotekun Training Camp in Osun – Corps Commander

The Corps Commander Western Nigeria Security Network (Amotekun) in Osun State, Dr Adekunle Omoyele has dismissed speculations flying around that some newly recruited personnel of the security outfit lost their lives while undergoing training in the state.

The Osun Amotekun Corps commander was reacting to claims from certain quarters that, Some newly recruited personnel of the security corps lost their lives during their ongoing training, in the state..

He emphatically stated that, no death has been recorded since the exercise began

Dr Omoyele made the clarifications on Imole Ayo, a programme, which promotes the activities of Governor Ademola Adeleke’s administration on OSBC Radio and Television channels

The weekly programme is put in place by the office of the spokesperson to the Governor, Mallam Olawale Rasheed to showcase the outstanding performance of Governor Ademola Adeleke’s administration in Osun State

He disclosed that a team of health workers led by a medical personnel is on ground to attend to any trainee who might sustain any injury since the training commenced.

The Amotekun corps commander also made it known that, those with underlining ailments who developed complications during the training, were swiftly attended to and are now stable

The Amotekun boss emphasized that the security network is apolitical adding that able bodied men and women who had earlier applied for the job, were thoroughly screened before the successful ones were shortlisted for the ongoing training without any political colouration or consideration

He pointed out that services of resource persons with several years experience in security matters were engaged by the security outfit to ensure that government investments for the recruitment and training of the new personnel do not come to waste

Dr Omoyele commended Governor Ademola Adeleke, for approving the recruitment exercise, which he said would greatly enhance the security of lives and property in the state.

He disclosed that the Amotekun Corps recently arrested three suspects who were subsequently prosecuted and convicted by court of competent jurisdiction for stealing building materials including iron and cement as well as a motor car

The Corps Commander, Osun Amotekun said cordial relationship exists among the security network in all the six states in the southwest with a view to nipping in the bud the nefarious activities of bandits masquerading as innocent citizens in the society

He urged the people of Osun State to be security conscious and report anyone with suspicious characters in the neighborhood to law enforcement agencies.
