PDP Congratulates Osun People as Guber Race Enters Decisive Phase

The Osun State Chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), under the leadership of Hon Sunday Bisi, warmly congratulates the good people of Osun State as preparations for the August 8, 2026 gubernatorial election gather momentum.

“The final publication of candidates for the election by the Independent National Electoral Commission, to us, is a defining moment in our democratic journey. Of particular significance is the inclusion of His Excellency, Ademola Adeleke, on the ballot, a development that stands as a clear frustration of anti-democratic forces who, in vain, schemed to edge the Governor out of the race through calculated distractions and desperate maneuvers.

“This publication by INEC equally vindicates the principled and timely decision of the Osun PDP to wholeheartedly back the Governor’s political movement to the Accord, a decision taken in the overriding interest of the people of Osun State, to safeguard their collective hope and firm determination to re-elect a performing and people-centered leader, rather than allow needless internal crises at the national level to jeopardize the state’s democratic aspirations.

“Governor Ademola Adeleke, as a man of peace and uncommon maturity, deliberately refrained from being drawn into unnecessary national-level confrontations that have unfortunately cost the PDP opportunities to contest in certain states, including Osun. His focus has always been to deliver dividends of democracy to the people of Osun and sustaining the developmental momentum already achieved, as against needless and unproductive grandstanding.”

The Osun PDP therefore reiterates its unflinching resolve to deploy the full weight of its structures, membership strength, and loyal supporters across all local governments to ensure the resounding re-election of Governor Ademola Jackson Nurudeen Adeleke on August 8, 2026.

“We call on the good people of Osun State to remain vigilant, refuse all forms of distraction, and redouble their efforts toward consolidating the gains recorded under this administration. The journey towards a greater Osun is on course, and together, victory is certain”, the statement concluded.
