The Adeleke family of Ede in Osun State stands as a testament to the enduring spirit of excellence and success. From their patriarch’s triumphs as a second republic politician to the late former Governor Isiaka Adeleke’s impactful leadership and Dr. Deji Adeleke’s towering success as a billionaire businessman, the Adelekes have left an indelible mark on Nigeria’s political and economic landscape.
Now, Governor Jackson Ademola Adeleke carries the torch of progressive governance and outstanding leadership, a commitment made to the good people of Osun State, when he was inaugurated as the Executive Governor of Osun State in November 2022. His radical commitment to transforming Osun State into a modern Nigerian state is evident in his bold initiatives and visionary policies. This has no doubt, created a new wave of restlessness and anxiety, to a faction of the main opposition party in the State, the All Progressives Congress APC, led by the defeated former Governor of the State, Alhaji Isiaka Gboyega Oyetola.
However, the sustained campaign of calumny against Governor Adeleke by this faction of Osun State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) reeks of desperation. It is a tacit admission of the APC’s failure to govern Osun State effectively, particularly under the administration of the immediate past governor, Alhaji Gboyega Oyetola.
Yet, Governor Adeleke remains undeterred. His transformation programs for Osun State will not be swayed by the attacks from the opposition faction of the Osun APC. The project of building a state of pride for all Osun people remains his foremost priority.
To the antagonists within the Osun APC, Governor Adeleke’s administration sends a clear message: their attempts to undermine his authority will not derail the march towards progress. The Adeleke administration is steadfast in defending the mandate of the people of Osun State, regardless of the opposition’s desperation.
No doubt, the Adeleke phenomenon symbolizes hope and progress for Osun State. As Governor Adeleke continues to lead with dedication and foresight, his administration will continue to champion the aspirations of the people and defend the collective interest of the state.
In Osun, there are brighter days ahead.
