The newly deployed Osun State Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps, Dr Adaralewa Akintayo has declared zero tolerance to act of indiscipline from the Corps’ officers in the state.
He promised that officers who bring the image of the corps to disrepute would be dealt with in accordance to the extant rules.
Dr Adaralewa who gave this charge on Monday during his maiden management meeting with senior officers at Osun State command headquarters said officers must take discipline as a priority. ‘’One thing I cannot stand is indiscipline to superiors and the general public.”
He emphasized the need to key into Commandant General, Dr Ahmed Abubakar Audi’s agenda of repositioning the Corps in order to actualize its mandates, urging officers to use neither their uniforms nor riffles to intimidate members of the public.
The Osun NSCDC boss also charged the personnel to have a firm control of their respective jurisdictions and warned them to be dutiful and intensify their supervisory roles over their subordinates with impartiality and fear of God.
He, however, assured that he would always provide good leadership that would help them succeed in the discharge of their duties, appealing to members of the public to assist security agencies with timely information to help nip crimes in the bud.
“Never should officers to use either their uniforms or rifles to intimidate members of the public.
“Even in the face of highest provocation maintain decorum and never trample on the fundamental human rights of Nigerians”, the Commandant concluded.
