- OHIS Boss Encourages Other Appointees to Follow Suit
Not less than 500 Indigenes of Osun state were on Tuesday enrolled by The Secretary to the Osun state Governor, Alhaji Teslim Igbalaye into Osun Health Insurance Scheme (OHIS)
The enrollment was part of the grand finale of Igbalaye’s Empowerment Programme tagged Imole Bibire Empowerment Programme, held at Ultimate Hall Alekuwodo in Osogbo, the Osun state capital.
During his address, the SSG emphasized that the objective of the initiative is to empower residents of Osun state so that they may have earnings.
“We embarked on this initiative with a vision for Osun indigene to have registered work for themselves to cater for themselves and their families.
“I’m proud to say that through your commitment and hard-work we have achieved remarkable milestones
“500 people will be enrolled in the OHIS program. This initiative underscores our commitment to community development and we believe that through sponsoring entrepreneurship and enhancing healthcare access we are sustaining change and inclusion across Osogbo local government”
In an interview with newsmen, the Executive Secretary of OSHIA, explained the importance OHIS in the empowerment program, while calling on other political office holders to emulate the SSG.
He said “Part of the enrollment is to enroll vulnerable indigenes into the scheme so that they can have access to quality and free healthcare wherever they are staying, and about 500 people are benefiting from this program.” he said.
One of the beneficiaries, Ajao Taiwo expressed his appreciation to the organizer,
“I am one of the people that registered, and I want to thank the organizer for this as it shows he is prioritizing our health.”
Another beneficiary, Omolara Hamzat, shared her excitement about the benefits of the program.
Ms. Hamzat “I am here for the empowerment program by Hon Teslim Igbalaye, and I am privileged to also enjoy the free enrollment into the OHIS. I pray the scheme will continue to grow, that way they are able to help thousands of others.”.
