…as rehabilitation of road set to commence

The joy of residents of John Mackay/Oke-Ayepe – Costain road in Osogbo knew no bounds as they sighted officials of the State Ministry Of Works on the road in preparation for the rehabilitation of the age long road.
The 1km John Mackay/Oke-Ayepe – Costain road is one of the roads across the State earmarked for immediate rehabilitation as part of projects to mark the first one hundred days of the Senator Ademola Adeleke administration in office.
Officials of the Ministry of Works and Transport led by the Coordinating Director, Engr. Olusola Ajao and the Director of Highways, Engr Basiru Bello went on tour of the road to see for themselves how the road will be rehabilitated to stand the test of time.
The road which is very useful as linkage between residents of Oke-baale trying to find their way to Oke-Ayepe/ Ilesa Garage or towards Ita-Olookan/Oja-Oba axis has been in deplorable condition and not motorable for many years.
Residents of the area on sighting government officials from the Ministry of Works who have come to access the road leapt for joy as they assisted officials of the Ministry with valuable history about the road.
They jointly chorused that the road has a lot of economic value for residents of Oke-baale and Oke-Ayepe as it is very short for residents of Oke-Ayepe who wants to visit the popular Shasha cassava market at Oke-baale.
Speaking shortly after the inspection, Coordinating Director, Ministry of Works, Engr. Olusola Ajao said Governor Adeleke is determined to fix every dilapidated road in the State and open all nooks and crannies of the State for economic growth.
Also speaking, the Director of Highways in the Ministry, Engr. Basiru Bello assured residents of the area of a quality job that will stand the test of time, stressing that Governor Adeleke feels their plight, hence the approval for the rehabilitation of the road.
