Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke has eulogised the Former Chief of Air Force, Air Marshal Oladayo Amoo, Chief of Army Staff, Lt Gen. Taoreed Lagbaja and Acting Comptroller General of Customs, Adewale Adeniyi for putting Osun’s name on national and global maps through their meritoriously service to the nation.
The governor, who celebrated God’s grace in the lives of the three illustrious top national officers who have reached the pinnacle of their careers stated this during a State banquet held in their honor on Wednesday in Osogbo.
He noted that they have validates Osun as a true land of accomplishments and attainments.
According to the Governor; “Let me start by noting that retired Air Marshal Amoo brought major expansion of air force presence in Osun state. I must put on records that the retired air chief brought the airforce research agency. Our government is already opening discussion with the Airforce for the development of the state airport. My brother, we are building on your legacy to give Osun a sustainable airport.
“To General Lagbaja, he demonstrates a close sense of affinity with the development of the state. The Army Chief recently supported our administration to restore peace in certain parts of Osun. He commissioned a civil-military school project recently in Ede. The Chief of Army Staff is my comrade for the development of the state.
“For the Customs Chief, Bashir Adeniyi, his love for our state and Nigeria as a whole predates his appointment. From his days as a Public Relation officer to his days as controller at MM1 Airport, he lends constant support to the state and her indigenes. I am lucky he is the Custom Chief at a time I am the sitting Governor of our dear state.
“I call on our illustrious sons to continue in their passionate service to the fatherland. You are our shining ambassadors donated to the nation. You are making us proud. You must not relent.
In the same vein, Adeleke also expressed his sincere appreciation to President Bola Tinubu for recognising excellence in the Osun great sons.
Governor Adeleke, however, called for the support of other eminent sons and daughters of the state at home and abroad, urging them not to forget home and to be his partners in developing the state.
In their separate remarks, the three top Service Chiefs appreciated the Governor and the People of the state for finding it worthwhile to organise such a great banquet in their honor.
