The Federal Ministry of Environment has issued a flood alert for parts of Ekiti and Osun States, warning that heavy rainfall between October 19 and 23, 2025, may result in flooding in some areas.
In a statement released by the Erosion, Flood and Coastal Zone Management Department, signed by under the National Flood Early Warning Center (FEWS Center), signed by Usman Abdullahi Bokani Director/Erosion, Flood and Coastal Zone Management Department, the ministry listed Ado-Ekiti and Ijero-Ekiti in Ekiti State, as well as Ilesa in Osun State, among the locations likely to be affected.
The statement urged residents and relevant stakeholders in the identified areas to take precautionary measures to mitigate the possible impact of flooding.
“Feedback from stakeholders and State Government representatives will be highly appreciated,” the notice stated.
