The Osun Asset Recovery Committee uncovered 580 motors, valuable items carted by former government officials
The Asset Recovery and Inventory Committee, set up by Osun State Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke, has disclosed that the Committee, upon investigation, has discovered not less than 580 motor vehicles, State owned landed property, Osun Helicopter and other valuables taken away by the previous administration officials.
The Chairman of the Committee, Dr. Bashir Tokunbo Salami, who spoke on behalf of other members, stated this while giving the report of their stewardship to the Governor in his office, State Secretariat, Abere.
He noted that the Committee has interfaced with 51 Ministries, Departments and Agencies and the 30 local Government Areas, including the Area Office where the Permanent Secretaries, Heads of Local Governments Administration were able to give them the needed details about the whereabouts of the property which some political Office holders in the last administration have converted to personal property.
Dr. Salami thanked the Governor Adeleke for giving them the opportunity to serve.While responding, Governor Ademola Adeleke appreciated the Committee for painstakingly doing the job.
He promised that he will look into the report thoroughly and act on the recommendations for the benefit of the people of the State.
The Governor therefore gave the Committee the mandate to recover Osun Helicopter even if it has been spoilt.He further noted that the Southwestern Joint Security Network, code named “Amotekun” needs to be restructured, through training and retraining of the officers, for effective security of the people of Osun as a whole. ….. Sunday Okunade Osun Governor, Adegboyega Oyetola has appointed Architect Adekunle Akande as the new General Manager to oversee the day to day affairs of Osun State Tourism Board.
The appointment which takes immediate effect is in line with the administration of Governor Adegboyega Oyetolas resolve to promote and development the tourism sector , locally, nationally and internationally.
The appointment letter signed by the Office of the State Head of Service through the Permanent Secretary, Ayanleye Aina, dated 19th April, 2022 was made available to newsmen.
It reads in part, ” I am pleased to inform you that approval has been granted for your appointment as the General Manager, Osun State Tourism Board with effect from 19th April, 2022.

Queen Aderonke Ademiluyi Ogunwusi, one of the Queens of the Ooni of Ife, His Imperial Majesty Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi has extended an hand of fellowship to the State Information Ministry in promoting Moremi Ajasoro cultural Heritage.
The Queen’s entourage of Moremi Ajasoro Cultural Heritage were on a courtesy call to the Ministry on Tuesday, where it declared its intent to revive and promote the legendary Moremi Ajasoro to the Oodua descendants across the globe.
The Queen, who is the CEO of Adire Oodua hub, Ile-Ife among other conglomerates was represented by Mrs Adetola Ogundipe,who led the Moremi Ajasoro Maidens to the Information Ministry in Osogbo. Ambassador Kehinde Olagunju in her opening remarks said that Moremi Ajasoro is part of yoruba history from Ile-Ife, the cradle of yoruba race. She added that the organization chose to partner the Ministry based on her tenacity to promote Yoruba rich culture.
This was contained in a statement released by the Spokesperson to the Governor, Mallam Olawale Rasheed, explained that the payment covers all Ministries, Departments and Agencies(MDAs) as well as secondary and primary school teachers, tertiary institutions, local government staff and retirees among others.
As the cleaning up of state finance continues, His Excellency, the state Governor restated his commitment to fulfilling the obligations of the state to workers on the payroll of Osun state.
” I have as a priority number one the welfare of workers especially our civil and public servants. Our workers should be rest assured that all issues affecting their welfare will continue to receive urgent attention of state.
“That is the first item on my administration’s five point agenda”, Governor Adeleke affirmed.
