Osun West Women Unanimously Endorse Governor Ademola Adeleke for Second Term

In a resounding show of unity and political resolve, women leaders across the ten Local Government Areas of Osun West Senatorial District have unanimously endorsed Governor Asiwaju Ademola Nurudeen Jackson Adeleke for a second term in office.

The endorsement took place at a well-attended gathering held at the Osun West Senatorial Office in Iwo. The event, spearheaded by the Osun State PDP Women Leader, Chief (Mrs.) Alice Otunla, and Osun West Women Leader Alhaja Amoo Afusat Ajoke, brought together an influential coalition of political stakeholders, grassroots mobilizers, and women representatives from various groups and communities across the district.

The motion for endorsement was formally moved by Chief (Mrs.) Otunla and seconded by Mrs. Bola Olayiwola, former Senatorial Women Leader (Ejigbo); Hon. Felicia Adeniran (Ayedaade); and Alhaja Lateefat (Ayedire), receiving unanimous approval from all attendees.

Speaking on behalf of the women, Chief (Mrs.) Otunla stated that the endorsement reflected the collective will of Osun West women, citing Governor Adeleke’s exemplary performance in governance, inclusive leadership, and steadfast commitment to women empowerment.

“Under Governor Adeleke’s leadership, we have witnessed remarkable strides in infrastructure, economic development, healthcare, education, agriculture, and human capital development,” she said. “We stand solidly behind him as our sole candidate for 2026.”

Also present at the event, Osun West PDP Senatorial Chairman Hon. Adesoye Oyetunde lauded the unity and strategic mobilization efforts of the women, emphasizing their crucial role in past electoral successes and the party’s future prospects. “In politics, women and youths are indispensable,” he stated. “Their support has been the bedrock of our grassroots strength in Osun PDP and for this Imole government.”

Commissioner for Women Affairs, Hon. Ayobila Fadeyi Awolowo, expressed confidence in the party’s chances in the upcoming elections. She emphasized the need for continued political evangelism and empowerment initiatives to broaden the party’s reach. “We know God is on our side and believe 2026 is already won, but we must not be complacent,” she said. “Our goal is to empower more women and expand our base ahead of the next elections.”

Adding her voice, Special Adviser to the Governor on Children and Women Mobilization, Alhaja Temilade Olokungboye, highlighted Governor Adeleke’s dedication to humanitarian causes and social welfare, especially for vulnerable populations, school children, and women.

In a goodwill message, Hon. (Mrs.) Bola Adedeji, Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Muslim Pilgrimage, represented Yeye Dupe Adeleke Sanni. She stressed the transformative role of women in society, noting, “Mothers shape the future. When we uplift women, we uplift the nation.”

Special Adviser on the O’Meal Program, Hon. Yemi Ayodele (Iya Gbogbo), praised the commitment of Osun West women leaders and called for sustained unity and grassroots mobilization to ensure a resounding victory for the PDP in 2026.

The event culminated in a heartfelt message from the First Lady of Osun State, Chief (Mrs.) Titilola Adeleke, who expressed profound gratitude to the women for their unwavering support and prayers. “Your endorsement strengthens our resolve. Governor Adeleke remains dedicated to the welfare of women and children, and we thank God for granting him the grace to impact lives across Osun State,” she said.

The endorsement marks a significant milestone in the buildup to the 2026 governorship election, positioning Governor Adeleke as a formidable candidate with deep-rooted grassroots support from the women of Osun West.

The event was further graced by several notable leaders, including Osun PDP Local Govt Chairman of Chairmen, Hon. Ademola Oyebode; Alhaji Tiamiyu Adeoye Alidu, Chairman, PDP Iwo L.G.; Hon.
