Osun State First Lady, Titilayo Adeleke has charged Prospective corp members of the 2024 Batch A stream II deployed to the State to the make best use of various Skills Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development (SAED) programmes introduced to them in camp.
She gave the admonition at NYSC Orientation Camp in Ede during the Opening Ceremony/Exhibition of the Skills Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development (SAED) put together as part of the 3 weeks orientation camp programmes for prospective corp members deployed to the state.
Mrs Adeleke reiterates the essence of skills acquisition as a major way to combat poverty and unemployment among youth.
“This program is a way to strengthen and empower them towards becoming purposeful individuals, rather been a white collar job seeker, invest your energy in these initiatives that will prosper your lives for a better tomorrow. The prosperity of this nation rests on the shoulders of our youths.
“I want to assured the prospective corp members of a very hospitable and friendly environment in Osun as our people are warm in nature, and we will support your dreams towards excellence which will aid your overall development” she said.
In his remarks, the State Coordinator of the National Youth Service Corp (NYSC), Mr Agbor Obim appreciated the presence of the First Lady, describing it as a big morale booster and great encouragement to the Corp members.
He emphasised the importance of skills acquisition to survival of individual’s healthy economy, financial and mental stability.
Part of exhibited skills for the corp members includes, tie and dye, make up and gele, pop and ceiling production, electrical, fashion designing, hair dressing. Others are, ICT, food processing, phone technology, film and photography among others.
