The vision of Osun State Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke to transform the state to a state of modern innovation in science and technology is gradually manifesting with the fast rate at which the teeming youths of Osun are becoming technologically savvy.
The Commissioner for Innovation, Science and Technology, Hon. Olatunji Ayofe made this observation on Friday at the closing ceremony of a 3-day training workshop organised by his Ministry for senior secondary school students at NYSC Orientation Camp, Ede.
The Commissioner who spoke through the Special Adviser to the Governor on Innovation and Science, Mr. Azeez Badmus, asserted that such training workshops would in no small measure strengthen the State’s drive towards becoming a leader in science and technology.
He noted that, in few years to come, Osun would be a technologically driven State as its youths must have been appreciatively taught and empowered in innovation,science and technology.
In the same vein, the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Innovation, Mr. Kunle Bello, while speaking, described it as a stepping stone towards lubricating the students’ technological skills which are needed in a rapidly evolving technological landscape.
Earlier, the lead facilitator at the workshop, Dr. Ajibola Abiola, commended Osun State Government for being the first state in Nigeria to organize such a training for youths.
In their separate comments, participants at the 3 day workshop,comprising teachers and students, expressed gratitude to the State Government for what they described as “a 3-day knowledge gathering get together.”.
The 3-day intellectually stimulating workshop later afforded participants, the opportunity, to make presentation of projects made by various groups as a way of affirming how much of the workshop they have learned in the last few days.
