The First Lady of Osun state, Her Excellency, Chief Mrs Titilola Adebusola Adeleke has charged the active petty women traders in Osun to establish their resourcefulness and join hand with government in steering the nation towards prosperity.
Mrs Adeleke gave this advice today at an empowerment programme for 1000 Osun state women put together under the auspices of the Renewed Hope Initiative agenda from the office of the First Lady, Federal Republic of Nigeria, Senator Oluremi Tinubu (CON) in collaboration with the office of Osun state First Lady, Mrs Titilola Adeleke. The empowerment which recapitalize each beneficiaries with Fifty Thousand Naira (#50,000) is projected at sustaining their financial independence and boost the economy especially through the small scale businesses.
Speaking at the Local Government Civil Service Commission Hall, Abere, venue of the programme, Adeleke eulogized the commitment of Senator Remi Tinubu (CON) towards improving the livelihood of citizens especially women, saying they are the foundation of communities as well as the unsung heroes of the nation whose importance to nation and family building cannot be undermined.
Emphasizing the essence of the empowerment, Mrs Adeleke said the gesture will go a long way as catalyst in driving towards economic growth. She also acknowledged the beneficiaries courage and resilience in putting food on the table for their families, despite all challenges millitating against Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) among other issues facing the nation at the moment.
She explained that the grant provided was to assist them in overcoming various identified challenges, expand their businesses, create more jobs, and contribute more robustly to the growth of the nation’s economy. She then called on the beneficiaries to make best use and invest in profitable ventures to achieve the desired result.
In her usual magnanimity and transparency, Mrs Adeleke extended 500 slots to opposing party (APC) in the state as facilitated by Mrs Oluremi Tinubu.
In their separate goodwill messages, Special Adviser to the Governor on Market Affairs, Mrs Grace Omotoso and Iyaloja General, Chief Mrs Oyebode Mary, commended the First Lady, Mrs Titilola Adeleke for playing a motherly role in the lives of all women in the state.
The event climaxed with the distribution of the grant to the highly elated beneficiaries who could not hide their joy an happiness. The programme was attended by Commissioner of Women, Mrs Ayobola Awolowo, Wife of the Head of Service, Mrs Moji Aina, Wives of Commissioner and special advisers among other dignitaries present.
