Accord Media Blasts Oyetola, Oyebamiji Over Alleged Anti-Tinubu Actions

The Accord Media Centre has accused Nigeria’s Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Adegboyega Oyetola, and the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate in Osun State, Bola Oyebamiji, of engaging in actions capable of embarrassing President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

In a statement issued on Monday, the group alleged that both figures have displayed divisive tendencies and contributed to internal crises within the APC in Osun State ahead of the August 15 governorship election.

The media centre accused Oyetola of imposing a preferred candidate on the party, a move it claimed has created friction among party loyalists, including those described as strong supporters of the president across various districts.

It also criticised Oyebamiji’s political capacity, alleging that the APC candidate lacks the grassroots strength required to mobilise support for both his candidacy and the president’s re-election bid.

The group, however, expressed support for Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, describing him as widely accepted among key segments of the state, including labour groups, pensioners, artisans, farmers, students, and cooperative societies.

Citing what it termed “validated political intelligence reports,” the Accord Media Centre maintained that Adeleke remains the most popular and electable candidate ahead of the forthcoming election.

The statement concluded with a call on Oyetola and Oyebamiji to desist from actions it described as detrimental to party unity and the image of the president.
