Adeleke Upgrades Ilesa General Hospital to Unilesa Teaching Hospital

In his effort to boost education and healthcare in Osun State, Governor Ademola Adeleke has announced the upgrade of Ilesa General Hospital to University of Ilesa Teaching Hospital.

The announcement was made on Friday during the coronation anniversary of the Owa Obokun Adimula of Ijesaland, Oba Adesuyi Haastrup, held in Ilesa.

In his address, Governor Adeleke noted that the university, under his administration’s guidance, is on a path to becoming a globally recognized institution..

He further revealed that the state is focused on upgrading Ilesa to a modern city, noting that the ongoing dualization of the Ereja Square, Brewery Junction road a 12-kilometer stretch that is nearing completion is a major infrastructure achievement

“In line with our promise, Ilesa is now a university town. Over 50 courses are already accredited. We are building the internal infrastructure within the university. The university management is building a credible global institution under the direction of our administration.

“I am glad to announce that the General Hospital, Ilesa has been approved as the Teaching Hospital for the University of Ilesa. This will boost Ilesa as a centre of medical excellence.

“We are focussed on the upgrading of Ilesa to a modern city. Hence, we are almost completing the over 12 kilometers Ereja Square-Brewery Junction dual carriageway. This landmark project for the first time is opening up Ilesa for business and pleasure”, the Governor noted.
