…unveiled five operational vehicles
The Executive Governor of Osun state, Senator Ademola Adeleke on Monday inaugurated Osun Community Development Council Executives, while he also handed over five new operational vehicles.
During his address at the inauguration program held at the Government house in Oke-Fia Osogbo, the Governor emphasized that the new executives from 30 local government are saddled with the responsibility of complementing the efforts of government.
According to him, they are expected to be partner in progress with government on matters of securing government’s properties in their LG areas.
He, however, assured that the present administration will not renege on his promises and commitment to better the lots of the people of Osun state.
He said, “I congratulate all the elected executive members on your emergence as the representatives of your people across the state. Community Development Council, as a non-governmental Organization, is saddled with the responsibility of complementing the efforts of government by embarking on viable self-help projects towards meeting your immediate needs.
“This is based on your realization that government, no matter how magnanimous, can meet all the people’s needs, yearnings and aspirations. You are equally looked upon as partner in progress with government on matters of securing government’s properties in your neighbourhood. This responsibility is very germain especially at this period in making lives more meaningful for the good people of Osun State.
“I want to enjoin you to reciprocate the kind gesture of our administration by giving us your unflinching support so as to continue the good work and bring more dividends of democracy to your doorsteps. Our government will continue to partner with relevant stakeholders who are ready to key into our various development agenda and other intervention efforts as contained in our administration’s 5-point Agenda”, he added.
While speaking earlier, the Commissioner for Rural Development, Alhaji Ganiyu Olaoluwa appreciated the Governor for his relentless support for grassroots development in Osun State, while urging all the executive of Community Development Council to reciprocate the kind gesture to Adeleke.
“This gesture was enjoyed last in the State in the year 2013. May I seize this opportunity to express my profound appreciation to your Excellency for the love you have for the people at the grassroots which is evident in the myriads of completed and on-going people oriented projects by your administration and the support granted to Community Development Council in Osun State.
“Your gracious approval had facilitated the successful conduct of election of new set of Executives of Community Development Council across the State who had undergone training on strategic management and adding value to Community Development practice in Osun State.
“I am happy to state unequivocally that Your Excellency will Commission five vehicles for the delivery of Community Development Council activities in Osun State today.
“Before I end this address, I want to enjoin all the executives of Community Development Council in Osun State to reciprocate the kind gesture of the administration of our amiable Governor Senator (Dr.) Ademola Jackson Nurudeen Adeleke by putting in your best in the service of humanity and support for the current administration in the state in its bid to take the state to higher heights”, the commissioner noted.
