Chioma Nnadi is a British fashion journalist and recently appointed Head of Editorial Content of British Vogue. She was born in 1980 in London to a Nigerian father who came to the UK to study in the 1960s and a Swiss-German nurse mother.

Nnadi grew up in central London and commenced her illustrious career in fashion journalism at the features desk of the Evening Standard Magazine before she relocated to New York to write for the independent style magazine Trace. She later went into fashion and its intersections with music while writing for Fader before moving to New York in 2010 to work for Vogue.

She spent the next 14 years climbing her way up the ranks, eventually reaching the position of editor of Vogue.com. Nnadi ran the online site and co-hosted the publication’s podcast, The Run-Through.

According to the magazine, Nnadi was able to substantially increase engagement and audience growth across social media platforms and is one of the magazine’s star writers, and the living embodiment of Vogue Boss, Anna Wintour’s mantra: “All platforms – all the time”.

On September 18, 2023, Chioma Nnadi was announced as Head of British Vogue, taking on the title of Head of Editorial Content.succeeding Edward Enninful, the first black man to Head British Vogue.This has marked a significant milestone in the fashion world as Nnadi takes the rein at British Vogue, bringing her fashion perspective and expertise to the forefront of the industry.


The 44-year-old journalist, has achieved historical significance as the first black female to lead British Vogue.

Nnadi has authored stories featuring industry luminaries such as Rihanna, Cara Delevingne, Erykah Badu, and many other prominent figures. She boasts an impressive 14-year tenure as writer and News Director for Vogue. Additionally, she has spearheaded online coverage of major events, including the Met Gala. She describes herself “first and foremost as a storyteller”.

Anna Wintour, Vogue’s Chief Content Officer and global editorial director, said Nnadi was “beloved among her colleagues”. She described Nnadi is “an editor and writer with an impeccable reputation – both here and in the fashion industry at large.
Chioma Nnadi’s first Vogue cover just released for the month of April featured FKA twigs on the cover.

Edward Emninfiul said he was “thrilled” at the news of the appointment of his successor, calling Nnadi “a brilliant and unique talent with real vision, who will take the publication to ever greater heights”.
