2027: Northern Comedians to canvass support for President Tinubu, Gov. Idris’ continuity

Comedians from the 9 Northern States have pledged to deploy their creative talents in mobilizing support for the continuity of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Gov. Nasir Idris’ in the 2027 general elections.

The Chairman of the movement, Suleiman Aliyu Mairubutu, disclosed this during a solidarity visit to His Excellency, Comrade Dr Nasir Idris at the Government House, Birnin Kebbi, on Wednesday.

The comedians, who converged on Kebbi for their maiden meeting also appointed Gov. Idris as their Grand Patron.

Mairubutu explained that the comedians would utilize comedy and stage performances to showcase the monumental achievements of President Tinubu and Governor Nasir Idris , emphasizing the far- reaching influence of such performances across the Northern States.

“President Tinubu cemented the unity and peaceful coexistence among Nigerians since assuming office, a feat that has kept Nigeria stable.

“We’ve perfected plans and strategies to showcase Tinubu’s achievements in the 19 Northern states.

“Our meeting here in Kebbi , attended by representative from 17 Northern States, underscores this commitment. Governor Nasir Idris Kauran Gwandu, is our Grand Patron, and we are fully ready to promote his remarkable record of performance for continuity “. Mairubutu said.

Representing Governor Idris, the Head of Service, TPL Malami Shekare, said the governor has acknowledged their support to him, thanking them for identifying with the policies and programmes of his administration.

“The incumbent government in Kebbi State is truly a government of the people. Do not allow yourselves to be deceived by political impostors pretending to offer you solace”,
“Comedians are influential communicators with widespread impact, and this administration recognises your potential in promoting good governance .
“The government is glad about your peaceful activities and your efforts in , showcasing the achievements of government, we shall continue to work together”, Malami remarked on behalf of the governor.

Speaking on behalf of the ruling party, the Zonal Chairman, APC Kebbi Central, Abubakar Bello Matawallen Bunza, thanked the comedians for their consistent support and loyalty to both President Tinubu and Gov. Idris.

“The Activities of comedians are impactful on governance, the APC embraces your contribution in advancing democracy and the delivery of democratic dividends,” Matawalle assured.

During the visit, two defectors from the ADC formally joined the APC, and pledged allegiance to the ruling party.

In his remarks, the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Garba Umar Dutsinmari, informed them that, Gov. Idris, had expressed happiness about their support to incumbent administration and uniting the citizenry through stage performances.

The Chief of Staff, Government House, Barrister Attahiru Maccido, also expressed gratitude to the comedians for their support to both President Tinubu and Governor Nasir Idris.
He encouraged them to amplify their activities across traditional and online media platform to showcase the achievements of the APC led governments at both federal and state levels.

On the occasion, the Chief of Staff and the Head of Service, made personal donation of N1 million each to the comedians.

Gov. Nasir Idris donated N15 million while his wife, Kebbi First Lady, Zainab Nasare, gave a donation of N5 million to the Northern Comedians.
