Ogungbile Reaffirms Adeleke Administration’s Commitment to Workers’ Welfare as December Salaries Drop

The Osun State Commissioner for Finance, Honourable Adeola Olusola Ogungbile, has once again reassured workers in the state of the unwavering commitment of the Governor Ademola Adeleke-led administration to prioritising their welfare and well-being.

The Commissioner gave the assurance during an end-of-the-year interactive session with staff of the Ministry of Finance, where he emphasised that the present administration remains resolute in ensuring that the interests of workers across all categories are adequately protected.

Speaking at the gathering, which was characterised by songs of praise and thanksgiving, Hon. Ogungbile expressed gratitude to God for His faithfulness to the ministry, the state government and the people of Osun throughout the outgoing year.

He commended the Adeleke administration for its people-oriented policies, particularly the prompt payment of salaries and pensions, the settlement of half salaries owed by previous administrations, and the introduction of impactful programmes such as the Osun Health Insurance Scheme (OHIS).

According to him, initiatives like OHIS have significantly reduced mortality rates among serving workers and pensioners, underscoring the government’s commitment to improving the quality of life of residents.

The Finance Commissioner further assured workers that December salaries would be paid ahead of Christmas celebrations, adding that the outstanding half salaries would also be released immediately to ease the financial burden associated with the yuletide season.

He used the occasion to urge workers and residents of the state to continue supporting Governor Adeleke, particularly ahead of the next gubernatorial election, warning against any attempt to compromise the future of the state through monetary inducement.

Meanwhile, confirming the Commissioner’s assurance, workers across the state have begun receiving alerts for their December salaries, sparking excitement and renewed confidence in the administration’s promises.

In his remarks, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Finance, Mr. Akeem Bello, charged staff members to demonstrate greater dedication to their duties in 2026, stressing the need for collective commitment towards achieving the ministry’s goals. Directors and other management staff of the ministry were present at the event
