OSBC Chairman, Oloso Joins Ijesa South Rep Race

  • Distributes 2000 Imole Caps in Ilesa

Chairman, Board of Directors, Osun State Broadcasting Corporation, Engr. Mayowa Oloso also known as Singapore has declared his intention to contest for the seat of Member Representing Ijesa South Federal Constituency at the House of Representatives in Abuja.

Making his declaration in Ilesa on Sunday before the leaders of Accord and PDP in Ilesa East Local Government, Oloso recounted how he had contested in 2022 but accepted the result of the primary election which did not favour him.

He pledged that if elected, he will put the people first, provide effective representation, enhance visible progress as well as provide an inclusive leadership that works for everyone; Women, youths, children, men, and the elderly.

He said, “It is with utmost humility and a deep sense of responsibility that I stand before you all today to officially declare my intention to contest to represent you all as Member, House of Representative at the National Assembly.

“My decision to put myself forward as your representative is about my thirst to provide purposeful leadership and stronger representation and the quest to reposition our constituency.

“This is not mere rhetorics or an academic exercise but a vision rooted in passion to liberate the people of Ijesa South and bring more development home.

“I have served and represented you all at the state level, when I was appointed, Board Chairman, Osun State Broadcasting Corporation, without fail and I hope to replicate this and even do more at the National Assembly with your support.

“Today, I offer myself to serve again, this time at the House of Representative, to deepen the work we have started together

“At the National Assembly, I will provide leadership that transcends politics and lawmaking, I will make quality input in the critical sectors of our federal constituency, ranging from Agriculture, Education, to Health and provision of other basic social amenities.”

After the declaration of his intention Oloso provided 150 bags of 10kg rice to party members and 50 Ramadan packages to Muslims in the party he then proceeded to Ereja Square to distributes over 2000 Imole Caps in support of the re-election of Governor Ademola Adeleke.

Since 1999, only Ilesa East Local Government has not produced a lawmaker out of the four local government that makes up the federal constituency.

Previous members are: Hon Gbenga Onigbogi from Ilesa West who served between 1999 to 2003 and 2007 to 2011; Hon Emiola Fakeye from Atakumosa East who served from 2003 to 2007; Hon Ajibola Famurewa from Ilesa West who served from 2011 to 2019; Hon Lawrence Ayeni from Atakumosa West who served from 2019 to 2023 and Hon Sanya Omirin the incumbent, from Atakumosa East.
