NULGE debunks link to APC statement, raises alarm over unauthorised use of name, logo

The Osun State chapter of the Nigeria Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE) has dissociated itself from a press release issued by the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state, accusing the party of fraudulently using its name and logo.

In a statement signed by the state president, Comrade Nathaniel Ogungbangbe, NULGE described the use of its identity in the APC’s September 20, 2025 release as “mischievous and unlawful,” stressing that the union has no connection with the publication.

It further condemned the allegation contained in the release against the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) chairman, Comrade Christopher Arapasopo, describing it as “baseless and fake.”

The union warned political parties and individuals against dragging NULGE into partisan activities, emphasizing that it remains a professional trade union body focused on the welfare of its members.

It also threatened legal and organizational action should its name or logo be used again without authorization.

“The attempt to associate our union with such a partisan write-up is hereby condemned in its entirety,” the statement read. “NULGE is not a political tool to be manipulated for selfish ends.”
