The Osun chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has affirmed that Governor Ademola Jackson Nurudeen Adeleke remains one of the most transformative figures in the history of the party and Osun State, noting that his legacy of compassion, performance and people-centered leadership will remain indelible in the heart of the PDP family.
In a statement issued by its State Chairman, Hon. Sunday Bisi, the party described Governor Adeleke as a leader whose impact will echo far beyond his years in office, and whose contributions to the development of Osun State will remain a reference point for genuine political service.
The statement noted that long before becoming Governor, Senator Adeleke was a pillar of strength within the PDP, mobilising the grassroots, stabilising party structures and inspiring hope in ordinary citizens who had lost trust in government.
According to the party, Adeleke’s rise did not come as a product of privilege but as the result of his sincerity, humility and a rare ability to connect emotionally with the people.
“Governor Adeleke changed the tone of governance in Osun state. He restored dignity to the party faithful, re-energised our structures across the state and gave a human face to leadership. His governance style—rooted in empathy, peace, humility and decisive action brought the PDP back to life and rekindled the belief that politics can indeed serve the people.
“From the moment he returned fully to the party, he brought unity, calm and renewed confidence. He healed divisions, empowered our members, and led by example. His influence strengthened the PDP to reclaim the mandate of the people in 2022”, the statement reads.
The PDP emphasised that Governor Adeleke’s achievements in infrastructure, health, workers’ welfare, and local government reforms have redefined governance standards in Osun State. His administration’s openness, transparency, and commitment to the common good, the party said, have become a model that future leaders will be measured against.
“Governor Adeleke is more than a public office holder, he is a movement. His name carries a weight of trust among the people, and his leadership restored the PDP’s identity as a party of justice, fairness and development.
“No internal or external forces can erase the profound imprint he has left on the PDP and on the political consciousness of Osun citizens.
“As a leader, a unifier and a builder of men, Governor Adeleke has etched his name permanently in the hearts of PDP members. His sacrifices, struggles and victories will forever remain a shining chapter in our party’s history,” the statement added.
