Akogun Oyewumi Celebrates Children Day, Urges Protection Of Children’s Right, Moral Upbringing

As children across Nigeria join their world counterparts to celebrate Children’s Day, The Senator-Elect, Osun West Senatorial District, Akogun Lere Oyewumi has called on parents, community leaders, teachers and all involved in children’s upbringing to take mentoring seriously and provide them with a sound education and leadership skills. It is my great pleasure to wish all children in the world, a very happy day. Our greatest pleasure lies in bringing smiles on your face and creating some moments for you to remember in the future. It’s the duty of everyone to ensure that our children get the necessary protection from all danger, obtain good advice and learn good values.

This was contained in a press release signed by him personally on Saturday, which reads:

“Children’s Day celebration is to rededicate to the course of our children. It is a day to recommit ourselves to doing all in our power to ensure that children are protected and empowered to aspire to be great in life and to remove all impediments in their way. They are the leaders of tomorrow, our hope for the future. We must therefore ensure their health and well-being through the laws and policies. Today is also a reminder to every citizen, every parent and guardian of their ilieble obligation to provide best health and education opportunities for their children.

“We reassured the children and youths of our commitment to fulfilling the promise of a better and prosperous future for them through quality education and capacity building. It’s pertinent to note that the task of training a child should not be left to Government alone. I therefore called on parents to play significant roles in sharpening the future of their children and wards. On this Day, I pray to Almighty to endow our children with the capability to take our nation forward on the path of progress and prosperity. Happy Children’s Day!!
