Osun State Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke again reeled out the resolve of his administration to better the lot of the people of Osun state more than they have ever experienced since the creation of the over 30 year old state.
In a manner akin to making more commitment to make Osun,the envy and pride of all and sundry , the governor added that unexpected meaningful developments like no other are in the offing for the people.
Governor Adeleke made these known while commissioning a new water project at Irepodun/ alusekere community Ede, a project which was facilitated by Osun Community and Social Development Agency, CSDA (DLI 1.4).
The Secretary to the Osun State Government Honourable Teslim Igbalaye who represented governor Adeleke declared that Osun is inching gradually towards greatness in line with the mission and vision of its founding fathers
Describing water as very important in the day to day affairs of people, governor Adeleke through Hon.Igbalaye maintained that his administration will not leave any stone unturned to make it available to all communities as he stressed that water is not only good but essential for people to stay physically healthy and insulated from all diseases.
The governor speaks further “Another important factor to note is that poverty and lack of clean water go hand – in – hand and a key component to eliminating poverty is having access to safe water”.
“When water supplies are improved and sustainable, it significantly enhances community economic growth and reduces poverty. Women and children who often spend hours every day searching for water which inhibits women from working to generate livelihood as well as reducing children’s time for education can start using their time for productive ventures, as clean, portable and drinkable water is now within their reach”.
Earlier,the General Manager, Osun State Community and Social Development Agency Mrs. Aderonke Funmi Abokede lauded governor Adeleke for initiating the water project across the state aimed at serving the Osun people.
Mrs. Abokede particularly expressed gratitude to the governor for the funding and creating an enabling environment for the completion of that project.
In his own remarks, Head of Local government Administration Ede North Local government Alh. Isiaka Olawanle Ayantoye also applauded the administration of Senator Ademola Adeleke and Osun CSDA for making life meaningful for the good people of Osun State through the provision of basic amenities to the people of the State.
Olawanle urged people living in Irepodun/ Alusekere community to reciprocate the gesture by constantly ensuring proper and adequate maintenance of the project.
