Salam recently completed the executive course titled, “Strategic Management of Regulatory and Enforcement Agencies,” a programme designed to strengthen leadership and accountability in the public service.
The lawmaker, who currently serves as the Chairman of the House Committee on Public Accounts, said the training was part of his pursuit of knowledge on how best to discharge his national responsibilities.
Speaking to journalists, his Senior Special Assistant on Education and Civil Society Matters, Umar Salman, described the achievement as a reflection of Salam’s commitment to academic excellence and personal growth.
Salman said the lawmaker has become an inspiration to everyone around him, particularly the youth, who can see in him an example of a leader constantly striving to improve his skills and capacity.
“Rep. Salam has shown that leadership is more than holding an office, it is about preparing oneself to serve with competence. His Harvard experience reflects humility and determination to grow in knowledge for the greater good of our nation,” Salman remarked.
Also speaking, his Senior Special Assistant on Media, Joshua Afolabi, eulogised Salam as a leader who never stops raising the bar in public service.
He noted that the Harvard training symbolises the lawmaker’s belief in knowledge as a vital tool for transformative leadership.
“Representative Salam has consistently equipped himself with the right skills to serve his people and the country better. His Harvard Kennedy School experience will further strengthen his resolve to bring innovation, transparency, and accountability into governance,” Afolabi stated.
The aides emphasised that Salam’s academic milestone is not just a personal triumph but also a source of pride for Osun State and Nigeria at large.
They expressed confidence that the knowledge and networks he gained from Harvard would translate into more impactful representation and stronger policy contributions at the National Assembly.
They further encouraged young Nigerians to emulate Salam’s example by embracing continuous education as a way to better themselves and their communities.
“This shows that knowledge has no limits and that true leaders never stop learning,” they concluded.
