I have had the opportunity to closely study Governor Ademola Nurudeen Jackson Adeleke, his worldview, and his approach to governance. Without hesitation, I can boldly state that Governor Adeleke has been a tremendous blessing to Osun State. When the records are reviewed, he will undoubtedly emerge as one of the finest governors to have ever served the state.
As Governor Adeleke marks his second year in office, it is essential to reflect on the remarkable progress and fresh optimism he has instilled in the people of Osun. In just two years, he has distinguished himself as a compassionate, visionary, and pragmatic leader whose policies have addressed the immediate needs of the people while laying a solid foundation for sustainable development across the state.
Before his administration, Osun State was burdened by a cycle of challenges—delayed promotions, mounting debts, unpaid allowances, and a backlog of salaries. Previous administrations left behind a legacy of abandoned projects, half-salaries, and anti-people policies that eroded public trust and confidence. However, Governor Adeleke has systematically and courageously reversed this trend.
One of his most commendable achievements is his unwavering commitment to the welfare of civil servants. Salaries that were once paid in halves are now being fully cleared, long-delayed promotional benefits have been honored, and the morale of the public workforce has significantly improved. The prompt and full payment of salaries has restored dignity to workers and renewed their trust in governance.
Additionally, Governor Adeleke’s dedication to completing abandoned projects underscores his sense of responsibility and continuity in governance. Projects that had been left to deteriorate have been revived, leading to significant progress in infrastructure development. Over 100 primary healthcare centers have been upgraded, ensuring that residents across Osun have access to quality healthcare services.
The state’s road network, once a source of frustration for residents and businesses, is now receiving the attention it deserves. Internal roads have been rehabilitated, easing intra-city transportation, while major roadway constructions, including critical flyovers, are underway—ushering in a new era of enhanced commerce and mobility.
Governor Adeleke’s administration has also prioritized rural development, particularly in the agricultural sector. By empowering farmers and investing in rural communities, he has sparked an agricultural revolution that boosts food security and creates employment opportunities for youth and rural dwellers.
What sets Governor Adeleke apart is his inclusive approach to governance. His administration is attentive to the needs of all segments of society, including people living with disabilities. By ensuring that no one is left behind, Governor Adeleke has demonstrated a rare blend of empathy and leadership that is uncommon in Nigeria’s political landscape.
As we celebrate two years of progress under Governor Adeleke’s leadership, I, Pelumi Olajengbesi, join the good people of Osun in applauding his monumental achievements. His governance has truly ushered in a new dawn for the state, filling the hearts of its people with fresh optimism and confidence in a brighter future.
I urge all residents to continue supporting and praying for this administration as it builds on its successes. Together, we can ensure that Osun remains on a trajectory of growth, development, and prosperity. Governor Adeleke’s two years in office have shown that visionary leadership, driven by compassion and dedication, can indeed transform lives and communities.
May Osun State continue to thrive and flourish under Governor Adeleke’s dynamic leadership.
