Workers in Osun State on Thursday trooped out in their large for an appreciation and solidarity rally to celebrate and honour Governor Ademola Adeleke.
The rally, held at the State Secretariat in Osogbo the state capital saw workers carrying placards with inscriptions such as “Osun Workers Are Solidly with You,” “Imole is 4+4,” “We Won’t Go to Egypt Again,” and “Deep Thanks to Imole.”
While addressing the gathering, the Chairman of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) Osun state chapter, Comrade Christopher Arapasopo, explained that the rally was to reaffirm workers endorsement of Governor Adeleke for a second term in 2026.
“The purpose of this rally is to endorse our own governor, our father, Senator Ademola Adeleke, because to whom much is given, much is expected. This man has done well for all workers in Osun State. Salaries and pensions are paid as at when due, backlog of salaries too are being addressed, and the state has become a construction site. This is the best Osun workers have seen” he added.
Also speaking with newsmen, the Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE), Dr. Kehinde Nathaniel Ogungbangbe, pledged the union’s continued support for the governor.
“There is no reason for us not to support him. We are going to support him till the end, and that is why we are here to affirm our support for Mr Governor come 2026”. He said.
The Chairman of the Trade Union Congress (TUC), Comrade Abimbola Fasasi, also praised Adeleke for surpassing expectations of the opposition party.
“We have never had it this good. During the electioneering campaign, they told a lot of lies about him, they said he can only dance, but today, testimonies abound across Osun State. As workers, we can never have it better. Let us continue to support the person who is ready to deliver. Fasasi noted.
