In a significant show of spiritual support and communal solidarity, the United Imams of various prominent mosques in Ikire gathered today at the residence of Senator Kamorudeen Olalere Oyewumi to hold a special prayer session for the second-term success of Governor Ademola Adeleke and Senator Akogun Lere Oyewumi.
The delegation of esteemed Islamic clerics was led by Alhaji Basiru Balogun, the Chief Imam of the Ahmadiya Movement in Islam, and Alhaji Memudu, the Chief Imam of the Nawair-ud-deen Central Mosque, Ikire. The prayer session focused on seeking divine guidance, continued peace in Osun State, and the successful renewal of the leadership mandates for both the Executive Governor and the Senator representing Osun West District. The clerics commended the duo for their dedication to grassroots development and their inclusive approach to governance.
The gathering featured a wide representation of the Muslim Ummah in Ikire, showcasing a unified front across various missions and local communities. Participating mosques included: Ahmadiya Movement in Islam, Nawair-ud-deen Central Mosque, Anwar-ul-Islam, Zumuratul Mumini, Eleyoka Mosque, Ejilola Mosque, Modinat Mosque, Olubadan Mosque, Quwam Deen Mosque, Ifelodun Idi Ahun Mosque, Sabo Samsudeen Mosque, Hasbunallahu Mosque (Onibenbe), Mundi Doogo Mosque.
During the event, the religious leaders emphasized that their support is rooted in the visible progress witnessed under the current administration. They noted that the synergy between the state executive, led by Senator Ademola Adeleke, and the legislative representation provided by Senator Lere Oyewumi has brought about tangible benefits to the people of Ikire and Osun State at large.
In his response, Senator Oyewumi expressed deep gratitude to the Imams for their spiritual intercession and their role in maintaining social harmony. He reaffirmed his commitment, alongside Governor Adeleke, to continue delivering the dividends of democracy to every corner of the state.
